Welcome to the Gold Coast Cat Club's Website

The Gold Coast Cat Club was founded in 1967 by a few dedicated cat breeders. Over the years, the club has grown but the original philosophy remains the same: a forum for people who have a common interest, which is the love of cats and their welfare in general.

We are a not-for-profit organisation, whose major aim is to promote responsible ownership of cats by attending pet-related public events such as the Carrara Cat Carnival and the Brisbane “EKKA”.

The club promotes early desexing, with the majority of our breeders desexing their kittens before they leave for their new homes.

We invite all our club members to attend our meetings and take an active role in the club. The meetings are generally a time to discuss new breeding information, relevant topics of interest, new breeds of cats, and our upcoming shows or community promotions.

We are affiliated with the Queensland Feline Association Inc, which is a member of the Australian Cat Federation.

We hold cat shows in June each year. Information is available on our Show page. Cat enthusiasts are most welcome and will see a large variety of pedigree cats as well as the faithful companion cat, and are able to watch the judging in progress. If you would like to show your companion cat, you are welcome to enter a show. Details of how to enter are available on the Show page, or by contacting the Secretary or President. The rules for showing a companion cat are that the cat must be desexed if over the age of four months, have a friendly disposition, and be clean and healthy.

Our club produces a regular newsletter for members, which contains information on all topics relating to cats: general information, show information, advertising of catteries and, of course, breeding information.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our site, and if you are interested in purchasing a kitten or an older cat, please visit our Kittens Available page and/or our Breeders page. Please do not hesitate in contacting one of our Club Secretary or President if you have any questions.
